Potas EDDHA is formulated with EDDHA (ethylenediamine-N,N′-bis(2-hydroxyphenylacetic acid)), the most effective and stable chelating agent for iron under alkaline and calcareous soil conditions. In such soils, unchelated iron or weakly chelated forms (like EDTA) quickly become unavailable to plants due to precipitation or fixation.

The EDDHA chelate in Potas EDDHA protects iron ions (Fe³⁺) from binding with soil particles, keeping them soluble and plant-available even at high pH levels (up to pH 9). This allows plants to continuously absorb iron through their roots, preventing iron chlorosis — the yellowing of young leaves caused by iron deficiency.
